Abstract
This chapter will deal with a varied set of creative practices related to User-Generated content for online video platforms. Drawing from practice theories, it will discuss the everyday but also the complex dimensions of Do-It-Yourself video creation in platforms like Youtube, shaping the aesthetics of what has been labelled as a ‘clip culture’. User-Generated Content (UGC) practices include, but are not limited to, creative appropriations of pre-existing video material (like in vidding, remixes or mashups), as it also involves a great diversity of original content creation, from spoofs to independent self-productions, fan films or crowdsourced collective projects.
