Zusammenfassung
Im Web 2.0 begegnen Unternehmen einer neuen Herausforderung: Sie müssen sich mit Shitstorms befassen, da die Gefahr einer Empörungswelle im Netz mit der Konsequenz eines Imageschadens für die Marke stetig wächst. Um sich dafür zu wappnen, müssen Manager die Mechanik eines Shitstorms verstehen. Dieser Beitrag geht daher darauf ein, welche Merkmale einen Shitstorm auszeichnen, was ihn auslöst, wie er verläuft und was die Viralität dabei am Leben hält oder sogar noch antreibt. Um auf einen Shitstorm adäquat reagieren zu können, wird zudem ein Modell zur Beurteilung der Schwere dargestellt, die potenziellen Wirkungen evaluiert und Einblicke in ein erfolgreiches Management von Shitstorms gegeben.
