Zusammenfassung

Als Katathrenie wird ein im Schlaf auftretendes Geräusch bezeichnet, das im Anschluss an eine tiefe Inspiration auftritt und einem mehr oder weniger lauten Stöhnen während einer prolongierten Exspiration entspricht. Dieses ist in der Regel monoton, sistiert mit dem Ende der Ausatmungsphase und kann episodenhaft mehrfach in der Nacht auftreten.
