Zusammenfassung
Hyperlipidämien (Synonym: Hyperlipoproteinämien) sind Stoffwechselstörungen, bei denen ein oder mehrere Anteile der Serumlipide (Cholesterin, Triglyzeride oder beide) und eines oder mehrere der diese Lipide transportierenden Lipoproteine vermehrt sind. Die wichtigste Form ist die familiäre Hypercholesterinämie, ein monogener Defekt im LDL-Metabolismus, mit einer Prävalenz von ca. 1:200. Träger der Erkrankung erleiden oft in der 3. oder 4. Lebensdekade einen kardiovaskulären Event. Die Behandlung der Erkrankung, die im Kindesalter ohne Symptome verläuft, kann mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit das Auftreten von atherosklerotischen Symptomen verhindern bzw. zumindest hinauszögern. Deshalb ist die Erfassung der betroffenen Kinder und Jugendlichen von größter präventiv medizinischer Relevanz.
