Nierentransplantation bei Kindern und Jugendlichen

Zusammenfassung

Prinzipiell ist bei jeder Form der terminalen Niereninsuffizienz im Kindesalter die Nierentransplantation die Behandlungsmethode der Wahl. In Deutschland erfolgt eine Nierentransplantation bei ca. 120 Kindern und Jugendlichen pro Jahr, entsprechend ca. 5 % der Gesamtzahl an Nierentransplantationen. Bei etwa 16 % der Patienten erfolgt eine präemptive Transplantation, d. h. ohne vorherige chronische Dialysetherapie und bei etwa 33 % eine Nieren-Lebendspende. Die präemptive Nierentransplantation nach Lebendspende führt zu den besten Behandlungsergebnissen und ist daher anzustreben.
