Abstract
This chapter is dedicated to special measurement procedures that are mostly applicable only to a single technology. A historic example is measurements that are related to the deflection principle of CRTs (cathode ray tubes), like linearity and spot size. But modern flat-panel displays (FPDs) also have unique characteristics like image content-dependent luminance of plasma display panels (PDPs) (loading) and a switching time that depends on initial and targeted gray levels as for LCDs (gray-to-gray switching time). Furthermore, as 3D displays are built from “conventional” FPDs, the effect of ghosting of the two images on the display has to be evaluated.
