Abstract
Constructivism, when applied to the theory of knowledge, it is a theoretical perspective, postulating that knowledge is the result of a constructive process of the subject. Piaget is the clearest reference when dealing with constructivism. In this section the main ideas of Piaget’s constructivism are analyzed in the domain of epistemology and psychology. Piaget’s research on the creation of new possibilities is also mentioned. Finally, Piaget’s constructivism is contrasted with Vygotskyan co-constructivism.
