Definition

This entry will focus on the subject of Ecosystem-Based Management (EBM). EBM is an approach by which all the relationships in an ecosystem are studied to ensure its prosperity and continuation. However, certain terms must be identified in a chronological order so as to know the meaning and definition of EBM.

  • Management is the science and process of achieving the set goals/objectives using the available resources optimally for an organization, where resources may include financial resources, inventory, human skills, production resources, or Information Technology (IT); thus, scientific management as per Fredrick Taylor can be described “as an approach that involves using the scientific method to find the ‘one best way’ for a job to be done” (Robbins and Coulter 2016).
