Definition of Sustainability

United Nations defines “sustainability as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” It further adds that “sustainable development calls for corporates to recognizes that (while) corporate growth and profitability are important, it also requires the corporates to pursue societal goals, specifically those relating to sustainable development — environmental protection, social justice and equity, and economic development.”
