Definitions
The concept of sustainability is the ability to maintain links and relationships between development and environment. It emphasizes the integration of social, economic, and environmental issues. The environmental sustainability of a country is totally dependent on the process where the utilization of resources through industrialization, the direction of investments, the orientation of technological development, and institutional changes will be applied in such a way that will not jeopardize the ecological balance and will not create conflict between the interaction of man and nature. Preferably, the development of a country will be environmentally non-degrading, technically appropriate, economically viable, and socially acceptable.
