Definitions
Several studies deal with how the attitude of violence against women correlates with sexism, because women are beaten simply because of their gender. The violence against women can be understood in a general context as any type of aggression, whether physical or psychological, including sexual abuse, deprivation of liberty, and threats directed by men against women be at home or in the community. The Sustainable Development Goals aim at equal rights to provide economic and social progress to all, so the fifth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5) seeks to eradicate violence against women and promote gender equality.
