Definition

AGE Platform Europe (AGE) located in Brussels, Belgium, is a European network of nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations and working for people aged 50+, which aims to voice and promote the interests of the citizens aged 50+ in the European Union (EU) and to raise awareness on the issues that concern them most. Shortly, it can be described as “the voice of older persons at the EU level.”

Overview

AGE was set up in January 2001 following a process of discussions on how to improve and strengthen cooperation between older people’s organizations at the EU level. Membership is open to European, national, and regional organizations and to both organizations of older people (self-advocate) and organizations working for older people.
