Indication
Anxiety, anxiety produced by organic states, pruritus (itching), premedication sedation, sedation following surgery, anxious withdrawal from medication, delirium tremens, and nausea/vomiting.
Off-Label Use
Insomnia.
Side Effects
Anticholinergic, drowsiness, involuntary motor activity, headache, hallucinations, and pruritus.
Serious
Convulsions and cardiac arrest (both rare), bronchodilation, and respirator depression.
Common
Dry mouth, sedation, and tremor.
