Description

The Rey complex figure test (RCF) comprises a copy trial of the complex figure followed by one or more recall trials. Administration of the copy trial requires examinees to draw a copy of the figure that is presented on the table in front of them. The examinee is asked to reproduce the figure to the best of his or her ability; however, no rotation of the stimulus or measuring instruments is allowed. According the Meyers and Meyers (1995), administration of the stimulus is presented for a maximum time limit of 5 min and minimum of 2 § min. If the examinee finishes his or her copy before 2 § min, he or she is encouraged to continue to look at the stimuli to ensure adequate exposure to the figure. Depending on the scoring system, other administrations allow unlimited amounts of time for the copy trial.
