Botany and Ecology
Tree, up to 15 or rarely 20 m tall, the trunk up to 35 cm in diameter, with dark gray splitting bark. Young branches light yellowish-brown or gray, smooth, with whitish lanceolate lenticels. Shoots glabrous and covered with grayish pubescence. Petiole 1–1.5 cm long, stout, compactly pubescent.
