Abstract

Infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) results in a profound alteration of immune system function that predisposes patients to numerous opportunistic infections, malignancies, and neurologic diseases. One of the most important clinical presentations of the HIV/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is mucocutaneous involvement.

Some of the most important mucocutaneous conditions in association with HIV/AIDS are explained in this chapter.
