Abstract
Erythema multiforme (EM), Stevens–Johnson syndrome (SJS), and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are a group of diseases characterized by varying degrees of skin and mucosal involvement, previously thought to be a single spectrum of disease. EM is an acute self-limiting condition, characterized by characteristic target lesions. SJS and TEN are rare, potentially life-threatening mucocutaneous diseases, arbitrarily delineated by the percentage of body surface area involved with skin necrosis.
