Abstract

Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common peripheral entrapment neuropathy. Trigger finger or stenosing tenosynovitis of the thumb or finger flexor tendon frequently occurs in adults. Triggering is produced by thickening of the fibrous sheath through which the tendon glides or by thickening of the tendon’s normally thin synovial covering. Carpal tunnel and trigger finger release are common surgical procedures. This chapter describes minimally invasive surgical techniques for these common medical conditions.
