Abstract
Social Internet of Things (SIoT) is a paradigm of the Internet of Things (IoT) that integrates the social networking concept into the IoT and provides a platform for global interconnected IoT objects to obtain social-like capabilities, which allow these objects to autonomously establish social relationships, request or provide services, and collaborate with others to achieve a common goal on behalf of their owners. This article first introduces the background and concept of SIoT. Then, it systematically summarizes the existing architectures of SIoT. Finally, the article concludes some key applications of SIoT and discusses security and trust issues in SIoT.
