Union Public Service Commission, the premier recruiting department for civil services in India.

Entrance examinations:

The examinations undertaken by the aspirants to join the civil services or public administration at the federal and state levels.

Introduction

Every year, thousands of young Indians undertake the civil service entrance examinations for admission into the prestigious All India Services or one of the Indian central government’s 22 specialized services. Examinees may choose to complete optional tests – called papers – on the subject of public administration. The papers have a significant influence in shaping the academic discipline of public administration in India, and they illustrate the current boundaries of the discipline.
