Introduction
We define sustainability as long-term success in leading or influencing others toward some worthwhile vision and goals. The topic of success is something that has been part of discussion for thousands of years by human beings, especially business people, scholars, politicians, and spiritual leaders. In this entry, we focus on and reflect upon understanding sustainable success in leadership and its relationship to certain key pillars and values such as legality, morality, ethics, and social responsibility. If a person is a good decision-maker and is perceived as an effective leader for consistently acting legally, morally, and in a socially responsible and sustainable manner, then he or she likely to be a successful leader and will be able to sustain that success for the business, enterprise, and organization. However, before an individual can attain the status as a leader, one must first be a successful person....
