Regime: A system of government in place within a country at a particular point in time

Regime Change: The replacement of one system of government with another one

Introduction

Regime change is a phenomenon which has occurred or occurs in almost every country in the world. Regime change is considered as the replacement of one system of government or administration by another system. A regime change can either be democratic or nondemocratic such as a military takeover/unconstitutional seizure of power. The democratic change could be termed electoral regime, while the nondemocratic change may also relate to military regimes.
