Agrarian question of Nepal: Major portion of population in Nepal is engaged in agriculture but due to various socioeconomic issues, the agricultural product is not even sufficient to feed the population itself.

Maoist armed revolution: The 10-year long Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) launched a guerrilla warfare armed revolution where “land to the tiller” was one of the major demand.

Guthi: The community group of a religious institution, mainly Hindus, which own a large chunk of land and most of these lands are still to come under the state’s taxation system.
