Definition
The concept of “Performance crisis” illustrates the paradox of the increased need present in the public serving organizations like public sector service providers and/or private nonprofits funded by the government to document their efforts for performance management and the enhanced public perception that performance indicators are not included in the decision-making processes.
Introduction
This chapter focuses primarily on the concept of performance crisis with the focus on public serving organizations like public sector service providers and/or private nonprofits funded by the government. These organizations need to comply with specific, arguably stricter, requirements to measure their performance and be held accountable for their performance, because they do work with public money.
