Definitions
Social justice in public procurement is the acquisition of works, goods, and services on behalf of a public authority in support of a fair and equitable society in which all individuals have equal access to rights, wealth, opportunities, and treatment.
Introduction
Public Procurement accounts for 13% to 20% of Global GDP, making it a powerful instrument for social justice advancement (The World Bank 2020). The early impacts of social justice in public procurement can be seen through the enactment of labor laws in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries (Bureau of Labor Statistics 2015).
