Pachydermodactyly is an uncommon acquired form of digital fibromatosis affecting adolescent boys (Prieto et al. 2011). Knuckle pads can occur in the contest of Bart-Pumphrey syndrome, an autosomal dominant disease associated with missense mutations in the GJB2 gene and characterized by knuckle pads, sensorineural hearing loss, palmoplantar keratoacanthoma, and leukonychia (Richard et al. 2004).
Age
The lesion generally affects adult patients, in the forth to sixth decades of life.
