Definition
M-AME is a malignant neoplasm of the breast that is arising within or intimately associated with a clinically and/or histologically definable benign adenomyoepithelioma or is a malignant neoplasm showing concurrent epithelial and myoepithelial differentiation. The entity of histologically benign or borderline/atypical AME associated with metastases (Nadelman et al. 2006) is not included in this definition.
Classification of M-AME
Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (EMEC)
AME containing in situ carcinoma
AME associated with invasive carcinoma (carcinoma ex-AME):
Breast carcinoma of no special type (NST)
Invasive lobular carcinoma NST
Carcinoma of special types
Squamous or adenosquamous
Spindle cell
Carcinosarcoma
Metaplastic matrix producing
Myoepithelial carcinoma
