Early Life and Educational Background
Lemay was born on October 31, 1976 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He earned his B.S. in Psychology from Worcester State University in 1999, his M. S. degree in Psychology from Rutgers University in 2002 under the guidance of Richard Ashmore, and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 2008 under the guidance of Margaret Clark.
Professional Career
Lemay taught at the University of New Hampshire from 2008 to 2013. Since 2013, he has been in the Department of Psychology at University of Maryland, College Park. He has authored publications that have appeared in Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Personality, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology. Lemay has won the Society for Experimental Social Psychology dissertation award (2008) and the International Association for Relationship Research dissertation award (2008).
