John Rauthmann is the current chair of personality psychology and psychological assessment at the Department of Psychology at the University of Lübeck (Germany). Previously, he served as a faculty member (assistant professor) at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem (NC, USA). He is a personality psychologist whose interests include, but are not limited to, personality structure and processes, person-situation transactions, and psychological situations.

Rauthmann (born November 12, 1987, in Montego Bay, Jamaica) earned his diploma degree in Psychology from the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck (Austria) in 2012, his PhD from the Humboldt-University of Berlin (Germany) in 2014 under Jens B. Asendorpf and Jochen E. Gebauer, and his habilitation (venia legendi) in 2016 also from Humboldt University of Berlin.
