Early Life and Educational Background

Wildschut was born on April 27, 1972 in Utrecht, The Netherlands. He earned his MA from Utrecht University, Utrecht, The Netherlands in 1996. He completed his Ph.D. (2000) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under the direction of Chester A. Insko.

Professional Career

After completing his Ph.D., Wildschut moved to the Department of Psychology at the University of Southampton, where he has taught since. His research in social and personality psychology has been recognized with the Gordon Allport Intergroup Relations Prize and the Jos Jaspars Medal for early career research contributions to social psychology. Wildschut has served as associate editor for Self & Identity and Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.

Research Interests
