Donald R. Lynam is a Distinguished Professor of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Prior to coming to Purdue University, Lynam was a faculty member at the University of Kentucky from 1995 until 2006. He is a clinical psychologist who studies, broadly, the role of individual differences in deviant behavior across the lifecourse.

Early Life and Educational Background

Lynam was born on April 5, 1967, in Cincinnati, OH. He lived for 5 years there as his father completed his Ph.D. in Environmental Health. His family then moved to Long Island and lived in Hicksville for 5 years and East Northport for another 4 years. Prior to beginning high school, Lynam’s family moved to Baton Rouge, LA. He graduated in 1985 from Baton Rouge High School as a rather undistinguished student with a great appreciation of alternative music and punk rock.
