Early Life and Educational Background

Wink was born in Warsaw, Poland, and spent his childhood and adolescence living in various countries in Africa and Asia. He received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the same institution. He earned his Ph.D. from the Institute of Personality Assessment and Research at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1989 under the direction of Ravenna Helson.

Professional Career

Wink was a visiting assistant professor in psychology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, from 1991 to 1992. Since 1992 he has been a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Wellesley College. He has authored over 50 peer review articles and book chapters. His articles have been published in journals such as Psychology and Aging, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Personality, Journal of Gerontology, and Psychology of Religion and Spirituality.
