Abstract
This is a memoir on the life and work of Robert W. White, who lived in the twentieth century, but in a larger sense, it is a story of the birth of an historic movement (psychodynamic theory) initiated in the midst of a World War but destined to have everlasting significance for the study and understanding of human personality.
