Abstract

Energy security is a global problem of any country worldwide. That is why increase in energy efficiency of industrial and commercial operations, implementation of energy-saving approaches and smart energy management guarantee of such a security, and, as a result, accelerating an economic growth. Energy economy strictly depends on energy intensity – the amount of energy used per GDP (gross domestic product). According to the multiple assessments by the International Energy Agency, the global process on energy intensity reduction is still too slow and is not uniform across the globe. That is why the research and engineering community worldwide for the last decades has been focusing on the innovation technologies on energy recovery and reuse for further efficiency improvement.
