Arctic Flounder (Liopsetta glacialis) – marine fish from the family of flatfish (Pleuronectidae). It inhabits shallow depths and soft soils of coastal waters. This fish can ascend into the rivers. Its body length is 30–35 cm, usually 25 cm. Liopsetta glacialis mature at the age of 4–5 years. The spawning occurs in January and February, under the ice, and it is not annual. The productivity is up to 200,000 eggs. It feeds on mollusks, crustaceans, worms, and small fish. The A.F. has the life span of 12 years. It is common in the southeastern part of the White Sea. The economic importance of this species is small.
