Adrov, Mikhail Mikhailovich (1908–1983) – was Russian oceanographer and Doctor of Geography. He graduated from the Moscow Technical College of Fishery in 1932. In 1933, he became a member of the Polar Research Institute for Marine Fishery and Oceanography (PINRO). In 1948–1975 A. was head of the Marine Hydrology Laboratory. He was an expert in the hydrophysical and hydrochemical formation mechanisms of the Arctic and Antarctic water masses. A. developed the wild fish finding methods based on negative anomalies of the dissolved oxygen. He wrote more than 70 scientific publications and participated in many Russian and international expeditions.
