Introduction
The MMPI-2 (Butcher et al. 1989) is a well-researched, broadband measure of psychopathology. Appropriate for individuals aged 18 years or older, the test requires examinees to respond “true” or “false” to 567 statements describing various personal characteristics, behaviors, experiences, and beliefs. Most examinees complete the test on their own in 60–90 min. Test responses are organized into scales intended to provide information regarding the presence of psychopathology and other personality characteristics. The MMPI-2 is one of the three updated versions of the original Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI; Hathaway and McKinley 1943); the other two are the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-Adolescent (Butcher et al. 1992) and the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-Restructured Form (MMPI-2-RF; Ben-Porath and Tellegen 2008).
