Douglas Northrup Jackson II

Douglas Northrup Jackson II was a Professor of Psychology at The University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada.

Educational Background

Dr. Jackson completed his undergraduate work in Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University receiving a B.Sc. in 1951. His Master’s (1952) and Ph.D. (1955) were in clinical psychology from Purdue University. His doctoral supervisor was John M. Hadley. Following from his Ph.D., Doug Jackson held, a postdoctoral position was at the Menninger Foundation under Gardner Murphy. It was under Gardner Murphy that inspired Doug Jackson to pursue a career in personality assessment (Paunonen 2005).

Professional Career

Dr. Jackson’s first academic position was at Pennsylvania State University (1956–1963). In 1964, Dr. Jackson was a visiting professor at Stanford University and was offered a position at The University of Western Ontario with the rank of senior professor in the Psychology Department where he remained....
