Steven K. Huprich, Ph.D. is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Detroit Mercy. He also is the Editor of the Journal of Personality Assessment and President-Elect of the International Society for the Study of Personality Disorders. His interests are in the conceptualization, assessment, and treatment of personality disorders, with particular interests in psychodynamic and integrative models of conceptualization and assessment.
Early Life and Educational Background
Dr. Huprich was born May 28, 1966, in Akron, Ohio. He was raised in Upper Arlington, Ohio, and credits his excellent education as influencing his lifelong interests in learning education. Dr. Huprich set out to become a surgeon and, despite entry into medical school, soon realized that this was not the ideal pathway for him.
