Amanda “Jill” Clemence is a clinical psychologist at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York, and a clinical research associate and affiliate faculty member of the Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. She is a psychodynamic psychologist who conducts clinical research in the areas of suicide and self-destructive behaviors, object relational theory, psychotherapy process and outcome, and personality assessment.
Early Life and Educational Background
Clemence was born on December 20, 1973, in Rogers, Arkansas. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1998 with a B.A. in Psychology. She went on to work with Leonard Handler at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 2003. She did her internship and postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
