Christianity is a monotheistic religion centered on Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, or Christ, who was promised in the Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament for Christians). This is the world’s largest religion (33% of the global population) with about 2.4 million adherents, under different denominations.

Christians believe in one God, the Creator of heavens and earth, in whom three different persons coexist – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – and in the incarnation of the Son, born from a virgin named Mary. Jesus Christ became a man to redeem humanity, saving people from sin and introducing them in the spiritual Kingdom of God, the fulfillment of which will occur at the end of time.
