Abstract
Ankle arthrodesis is an accepted treatment for ankle arthritis of multiple etiologies. This treatment method can be complicated when patients present with associated issues such as bone loss, infection, or deformity. We present a case with distal tibia intra-articular nonunion and bone loss treated with ankle arthrodesis and gradual tibial lengthening utilizing both internal fixation and ring external fixation techniques.
