Introduction
Peter Fraenkel is an important contributor to the fields of family psychology and family therapy. He has created and evaluated community-based programs for families, including homeless families, who are transitioning from welfare or immigration to housing and being in the work force, as well as conducting research on how time, technology, and work affect the family system. Fraenkel has published widely and has presented his research around the world.
Career
Peter Fraenkel received his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Psychology in 1980 from Boston University and then went on to receive his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Duke University in December 1988. After graduating with his doctorate, Fraenkel completed a postdoctoral internship with a specialization in family and couples therapy at New York University Medical Center.
