Janice K. Kiecolt-Glaser, Ph.D.

Introduction

Janice K. Kiecolt-Glaser is recognized for her seminal contributions to the field of psychoneuroimmunology. Her research has rigorously established connections between stressors that emerge in the context of marriage and alterations in immune, hormonal, and metabolic systems. These connections are key to understanding the centrality of marriage and intimate relationships to health and well-being across the adult lifespan. Kiecolt-Glaser has authored more than 250 empirical papers and chapters.

Career

Kiecolt-Glaser received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami in 1976. She completed an internship in Clinical Psychology at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
