Introduction
Candice M. Monson is one of the most prominent researchers in the areas of trauma-related disorders and intimate partner relations. She has developed and tested post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) treatments for both individual and conjoint therapies: Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy (CBCT). Dr. Monson has published several coauthored books and over 100 peer-reviewed articles. Academically and professionally, she has directed her efforts toward increasing awareness of trauma-related disorders and has developed individual- and couple-based interventions to resolve trauma-related symptoms.
Career
