Introduction
With the designation of Functional Family Therapy (FFT; Alexander and Parsons 1982; Alexander et al. 2013) as an evidence-based model in the late 1990s, FFT has moved from being primarily academically housed (years 1973 to the late 1990s) to a treatment protocol delivered in various systems (e.g., juvenile justice, mental health, child welfare, school). This evolution has been paralleled by changes in training, supervision, and accountability (data capture, encoding, reporting to diverse systems). In particular, FFT LLC (www.fftllc.com) has developed accountability/data systems that transcend diverse treatment delivery contexts, to facilitate training and monitoring of implementation across systems and populations. As FFT increasingly became an international treatment system, challenges and complexities increased.
