Introduction

Jaime Inclán, Ph.D., is the founder and director of the Roberto Clemente Center in New York City, and Clinical Associate Professor in Psychiatry at New York University.

Career

Jaime Inclán, Ph.D., was born and raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico, and finished high school at Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island. He received his B.S. in Psychology at Georgetown University in 1971. He attended graduate school at New York University where he received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1979, completing his clinical internship at Gouverneur Hospital, where he began his work in family therapy under the supervision of Doris Bartlett and Clifford Seager. Inclán worked at the Family Therapy Program at Morrisania Family Health Center and from 1979 to 1982 was psychosocial faculty at Montefiore’s Residency Program in Social Medicine, and lecturer and then assistant professor in the Department of Community Health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
