Introduction

Kim Halford, PhD FAPsS FAACBT FABCT (b. 1954), has made internationally recognized contributions to knowledge on the prevention and treatment of couple relationship distress and linkages between individual disorders and relationship problems. He has written over 190 journal papers, book chapters, and books and co-edited the seminal reference text The Clinical Handbook of Marital and Couple Interventions.

Career

Professor Kim Halford received his PhD in psychology at Latrobe University, Melbourne, in 1978. He began his academic career at the University of Queensland in the Department of Psychiatry in 1985 and was chief psychologist at Royal Brisbane Hospital and associate professor (Psychiatry) at the University of Queensland (1991–1995), professor of psychology at Griffith University (1995–2008), and professor of clinical psychology at the University of Queensland (2016–).
