Definition

José (Pepe) H. Prado Flores was born in 1947 at Morelia in Central Mexico. He is one of the most successful evangelizers of the *Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) movement in Mexico and globally. His is the founder of the San Andres Schools of Evangelization (Escuelas de Evangelización San Andrés, EESA).

Key Information

Pepe Prado pursued catechetical, philosophical, biblical, theological, and catechetical studies in *(?)Mexico and Belgium. In Mexico City, he taught biblical studies as a layperson. In 1971, he experienced a conversion in the Holy Spirit at the Iglesia Altillo in Mexico City (Cleary 2011: 167). This church and an adjoining center for spirituality were run by Father Alfonso Navarro Castellanos and the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit (MSpS), a Mexican religious order. This spiritual center and missionaries of this religious order were the first to introduce the *CCR in Mexico (Cleary 2011: 153–154).
