Abstract

Jakob Martini is one of the most famous German Lutheran philosophers and theologians of the seventeenth century. His books on logic and metaphysics were very important for the new Lutheran style of Aristotelian Philosophy. Martini was, oddly enough, influenced by the content and methodology of the Philosophy of the Jesuits. He wrote also one of the first philosophical works in the German language to fight against a radical group of anti-philosophers.
